Department of Economics and Finance Hosts Resume Workshop and Mock Interviews

The Department of Economics and Finance recently held a resume building workshop and mock interview session.

“Resumes and job interviews are instrumental and unavoidable in a career pursuit,” said undergraduate student Edosa Obaseki. “Frequent resume review keeps you relevant and marketable in your desired industry.”

The workshop focused on formatting structures that have been proven successful in helping land an interview and have been adapted by credible schools such as McCombs School of Business.  Students learned how to use references to their advantage, write an employment objective and make the most of work experience.

“A workshop will help me transform my resume into a powerful tool that will land me interviews,” said student Nishanth Arepalli.

After the resume building workshop, experienced faculty in the Department of Economics and Finance gave mock interviews to students, which were designed to help reduce stress through practice.

“Having an opportunity to practice with professional guidance and feedback is very valuable,” said student Harika Vasireddy. “This will help students get over interview anxiety, gain confidence and prepare for the worst.”
