A&M-Commerce offers free student access to licensed physicians and counselors

Texas A&M University-Commerce partnered with TimelyMD to offer free online health care to students during the COVID-19 pandemic. TimelyMD will complement on-campus student health services while students are taking online classes from home.

The Campus.Health program was created by TimelyMD to address the rising need for thoughtful telehealth services as COVID-19 becomes a growing public health concern. Campus.Health offers A&M-Commerce students 24/7 online access to highly qualified doctors and mental health professionals.

According to A&M-Commerce President Mark Rudin, “We want to provide as much support as possible to our students right now, and this free health service will help them stay physically and mentally healthy.”

The Campus.Health program is a convenient way for students to receive medical and mental health support for common conditions that can be safely and accurately diagnosed and treated online. The program allows students access to medical and counseling visits anytime, anywhere via a secure video or brief phone visit from any web-enabled device – smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

During the consultation, a licensed, board-certified physician (MD), nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) will review and discuss the patient's symptoms, make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. The licensed providers are trained to treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Cold
  • Sinus Infection
  • Influenza (Flu)
  • Bladder Infection (UTI)
  • Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)
  • Canker or Cold Sore
  • And much more

In addition, Campus.Health counselors can treat:

  • Men's and Women’s issues
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Addictions
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Panic disorders
  • And much more…

If a student's health concern cannot be addressed through the Campus.Health program, the student may be directed to another location for care.

In addition, TimelyMD/Campus.Health providers are licensed to prescribe certain medications, including antibiotics, inhalers, eyedrops, and antihistamines, as well as other therapeutic medications. They can also refill short-term supplies of maintenance medications in the event that a student cannot get in touch with their primary care doctor due to limited hours or appointments.
