Texas A&M System Chancellor Recognizes Hunt County Legislators

Texas A&M University-Commerce, in conjunction with The Texas A&M University System, honored Senator Robert F. “Bob” Deuell and Representative Dan Flynn during half-time at the A&M-Commerce football game on November 16.

“Both Senator Deuell and Representative Flynn have a deep appreciation for the critical role that higher education plays in securing the future of our state,” said A&M-Commerce President Dan R. Jones. “Texas A&M University-Commerce is fortunate indeed to have them standing up for us in the Texas Legislature.”

A&M-Commerce honored them for their commitment and outstanding work during the 83rd legislative session.  John Sharp, chancellor of The Texas A&M University System, presented each of them with a token of appreciation on behalf of the A&M System.

“Through our shared commitment to the future of Texas, The Texas A&M University System and our state legislators are leading the way for quality higher education across our nation,” said John Sharp, chancellor of the A&M System.  “It has been a pleasure to work with such dedicated public servants and I commend their efforts during the 83rd legislative session.”

Other distinguished guests present were The Honorable Ralph Hall, Representative from Texas' District Four, and The Honorable Mike Conaway, Representative from Texas' District 11.
