This program of study is designed to prepare students for careers in various businesses or government agencies associated with the production, processing and distribution of agricultural products. This major integrates competencies in the principles of business management including financial management, marketing, planning, analysis and organization with the technical knowledge of agricultural sciences. This major prepares graduates for careers in agribusiness, agricultural finance, county extension offices, ranch management, banks, ag loan offices, federal agencies and ag consultancy businesses.
Combines three critical aspects of our survival into an academic program leading to careers in production or public service. The program includes teacher certification coursework leading to the preparation of educators in Family and Consumer Sciences but also offers other avenues for working with families as well as the agriculture and food industries.
A graduate with a major in agricultural sciences should possess competencies in basic economics and management, plant and animal operations, pest control, production and utilization of plant and animal products, marketing and food sciences. Examples of career options for graduates with an agricultural sciences major include agricultural civil service professions, technical and sales positions, landscape operations, county extension agents, ranch management, agronomic or horticultural production management, food manufacturing and preservation and quality control.
The MS degree program allows students the choice to emphasize coursework in agricultural economics, agricultural mechanization, animal science, plant and soil science or horticulture. Graduate-level research is encouraged through the use of on-campus and University Instructional and Research Farm facilities.
This degree program offers two emphases: Industry and Horticulture. The Industry emphasis is available to community college transfer students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in a specialized agricultural technology area. Credit for courses in the specialized agricultural technology area will be awarded only from departmentally approved AAS programs that have articulation agreements on file with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
The Ornamental Horticulture emphasis prepares you for a variety of exciting careers. From golf courses to greenhouses, environmental agencies to major corporations, horticulturists with knowledge in ornamental plants, turf grasses, soils and landscape design are in high demand. This program will provide you with the knowledge to broadly serve retail centers and wholesale growers, small residential yards and commercial landscapes, trees and backyard or green roof gardeners.

Whether your interest is in the structure and chemical reactions in living systems, properties and reactions of organic or inorganic minerals and compounds, or how matter behaves on a molecular level, a degree in chemistry will prepare you for industry career or graduate studies. The Master of Education in Counseling is a 36-semester hour program designed for those students who plan to work in college and university student affairs, but prefer a counseling foundation in their preparation. Graduates of this program typically seek employment in student activities, career services, academic advising, Greek affairs, recruiting and admissions, residence life, and other departments and offices within the student affairs division of community colleges and four-year colleges and universities.
The Master of Science in Counseling offers an emphasis in School Counseling (51 semester hours) for those students seeking certification as a professional school counselor and an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (60 semester hours) for those students desiring licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Both programs include a common core as well as courses specific to each emphasis. Students now can obtain School Counselor + LPC.

The Tax Accounting Graduate Certificate is a 12 semester hour (4 course) program. The certificate may be applied to the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program with two of the courses ACCT 538 & ACCT 540 required as part of the core and advanced core.
This certificate is ideal for students who either already hold a completed graduate degree or are actively in the process of earning a graduate degree and wish to earn this certificate in conjunction with their degree. In addition to the enhanced professional status that the Certificate in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) brings, this Certificate will enable the holder to meet the 18-hour SACS requirement to teach at the College level.

Our program equips you with acting techniques and skills, theatrical presentation, direction, production and management of theatre operations and insight on modern theatre and theatre of varying cultures which will prepare you for careers in acting, design, technology management, production, theatre management, education and sound management.
Our program equips you with the acting, directing and production skills needed for the high school classroom. You'll take courses in stage management, theatre operations, costume design and lighting. Gain insight into modern theatre and theatre of varying cultures through our course offerings. Our combined theatre and education program prepares you for a career in teaching. You'll take courses in pedagogy, learning processes and development, and classroom management. After completing a teaching residency, you'll be certified to teach theatrical arts at the secondary level (grades 7-12).
Students can focus on the following topics: acting, lighting, modern theatre, theatre history, theatrical design, directing, management, playwriting, theatre pedagogy and theory. This program is an intensive baccalaureate degree that prepares students for professional opportunities in the fields of advertising and design. Students pursuing the degree will choose from the following emphases, each of which has a specified sequence of courses: Art Direction, Design or New Media. It is important to note that all visual communication courses above the sophomore level are taught at the Universities Center at Dallas (UCD) in Downtown Dallas.
The concentration in Art Direction prepares students for professional positions as creative team leaders who target specific market audiences and produce client branding, single ads or campaigns in print, broadcast and interactive media. Courses in art direction and advertising emphasize the development of concepts from infancy through the finished product. The Art Direction student gains proficiency in creating headlines, copy, layout and storyboarding, partnering with copywriting students, as well as in directing the work of designers, photographers, illustrators, and other contributions. The concentration in Design prepares students choosing to pursue a career as a design professional. Instruction focuses on an applied conceptual skill set through the development and application of the creative process, conceptual thinking, and visual problem-solving. Courses focus on client-driven projects such as packaging, paper systems, and client visual branding development.

This program is designed for students interested in wildlife management, ecology or the preservation of biodiversity. Through hands-on research at our university wetland, practical exercises, field trips, internships and personal instruction in the classroom, you will gain marketable expertise in soils, ecology, botany and zoology. Upon completion of this program you can pursue careers as wildlife ecologists, game managers, state and federal wildlife biologists, state and federal park rangers, nature preserve and interpretive specialists, and zoo-keepers.
This program is for students interested in wildlife management, ecology or the preservation of biodiversity. Designed around the requirements established by The Wildlife Society and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, upon completion of this program you will be able to pursue a variety of careers in fields such as wildlife ecology, game managers, wildlife biologists, park rangers and park managers.
