Save the Date: Career Clinic

Texas A&M University-Commerce's Career Development department is teaming up with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated to host a round-robin, stationed career clinic on September 24 with hopes to prepare students for the career fair on October 8.

“It is a one-stop-shop for career success that will allow students to put their best foot forward at the career fair,” said Employer Relations Coordinator for Career Development Bethany Ferrall. “We will have employers and professionals on hand to give advice on resumes, interviewing, and networking. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to brush up your skills and prepare for the fair! I would advise students and alumni to arrive on time, dress for success, and have your resumes ready.”

The Career Closet will be set up as well as a resume booth, practice career fair sessions, mock interview stations and a professional LinkedIn photo booth. This event will provide students with an opportunity to practice their elevator pitches, resumes and interview skills to ensure that they are career fair ready.

“We are excited to host this new event which combines so many different aspects of the career development process,” said Assistant Director of Career Development Ashley Ortiz. “Everyone should attend this event! We created different time slots to accommodate all students’ schedules. Utilize this event to gain a competitive edge for your future career.”

The career clinic will take place in the Rayburn Student Center on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Students and employers can register at www.hirealion.com.
