“Degrees that matter!” is our motto. Our program in theatre is designed to stretch your imagination as you refine your skills and discover new passions. Depending on the track you choose, you learn about and practice acting/directing, technical theatre/design and teaching. Show off your new skills and techniques by participating in university shows presented in our campus’ two theatres.

Theatre (BA/BS):: Focus Your Passion
Focus Your Passion
We offer four tracks for pursuing your degree in theatre.
Acting/Directing
Develop ongoing audition material that will be used in professional auditions as you pursue professional theatre employment with this 120-credit hour degree track.
General Theatre
Achieve effective and innovative individual expressions through theatre. With this track, you will gain experience in a variety of theatrical roles.
Technical Theatre/Design
Use your talents to create physical and digital designs through the use and development of learned theatrical skills with this 120-credit hour track.
Theatre with Teaching Emphasis
Take your expertise to the classroom and teach future actors, actresses, and theatrical professionals with this 120-credit hour track. You will have the opportunity to develop a high level of competence in your theatrical expression and in effective, engaging instructional abilities.

Course Delivery
Our programs cover different facets of theatre production which provide you with the skills for participating in university shows. You can take courses face-to-face on the main campus in Commerce during the fall and spring semesters, as well as during the summer terms. Some of our courses are offered online.

Tuition and fees for undergraduate students taking 12 credit hours are $4,126 for Texas residents and $9,034 for non-residents.
