Improve the classroom experience with our master’s degree program. Our teaching emphasis is designed for current mathematics educators seeking to boost their mathematical knowledge while learning new methods of curriculum instruction. While here, you’ll take 9-15 graduate hours in Math Teacher Education (MET) courses to learn and understand the principles and standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). You’ll be better equipped to teach at the middle school and high school level. With this degree, you’ll also receive the skillsets for teaching mathematics at community colleges. Graduate Program Costs

Program Costs

As of Fall 2019, tuition and fees for a graduate student taking 9 credit hours through our 1 Year Optional Rate Plan is $3,288.98 for a Texas resident and $7,086.98 for a non-Texas resident. However, rates do change based on the number of credit hours taken, payment plan used and other factors.

Domestic Students Required Documents

  • Apply Texas application
  • $50 (USD) application fee
  • Scores
    One of the following
    • Official General Test GRE scores
    • A completed master’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university with a 3.00 GPA overall or higher
  • All official transcripts
    • Bachelor’s degree, including all transcripts used towards a bachelor’s degree
    • Any master’s degree transcript(s) with graduate coursework (if applicable)

Application Packet Submission Deadline

Applications are accepted throughout the year.

International Student Document Requirements

  • Apply Texas application
  • $75 (USD) application fee
  • All official transcripts
    • Bachelor’s degree, including all transcripts used towards bachelor’s degree
    • Any master’s degree transcript(s) with graduate coursework (if applicable)
    • A copy of the provisional certificate or diploma
  • Scores
    One of the following
    • Official General Test GRE scores
    • A completed master’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university with a 3.00 GPA overall or higher
  • English proficiency
    Scores must be less than 2 years old.
    • Official TOEFL (Minimum Scores: IBT 79, or CBT 213, or PBT 550), or
    • Official IELTS (Minimum Score: 6.00 band overall), or
    • Official PTE (Minimum Score: 53 overall or higher), or
    • Completion (all years) of a bachelor’s degree or higher degree from a regionally accredited university in the United States

Fall admission consideration: June 1

Spring admission consideration: October 15

Summer admission consideration: March 15
