Experience the Classroom firsthand

Work under the guidance of teaching professionals with our field-based, residency program. As a student in The Art of Teaching program, you’ll work at a local middle or high school for a one-year paid internship. Gain the confidence you need in the classroom before your first year of teaching. As part of your degree program, you will receive course credit for this internship.

The Art Of Teaching (MED) :: Course Delivery and Resources

Course Delivery and Resources

Our flexible program is designed to match your research interests and career goals. Thirty credit hours include in-person courses in Curriculum and Instruction and Secondary Education. You’ll receive an additional six hours of credit for the year-long internship. No thesis or foreign language is required for this program.

Tuition and fees for graduate students taking nine credit hours are $3,594 for Texas residents and $6,897 for non-residents.

Domestic Student Requirements

  • Apply Texas application
  • $50 (USD) application fee
  • All official transcripts
    • All transcripts used towards a bachelor’s degree
    • Any master’s degree transcript(s) with graduate coursework (if applicable)
  • One of the following:
    • Valid teaching certificate
    • Passing PPR, ExCet or TExES scores
    • Official General Test GRE scores

Application Packet Submission Deadline
