Thesis

This 36-credit hour program will prepare you for a career in research and further coursework in the field of international sport management. This option requires that you complete a thesis.

Non-Thesis

This 36-credit hour program will prepare you for a career in international sport management. You are required to complete an internship.

Study What Interests You

You can earn a graduate certificate in either exercise science or sport coaching. These certificates will broaden your knowledge of health, kinesiology and sports.

Domestic Student Requirements

A master’s degree is not required to apply; however, if you are currently completing a program, your master’s degree must be completed prior to admission. The match between your master’s level courses and the requirements for completion of an entry-level CACREP program will be considered in the admissions decision.

  • Application fee: $50
  • Scores
    At least one of the following
    • Official GRE Score
    • An awarded master’s degree from a regionally accredited university with an overall GPA of at least a 3.25 on the degree
    • An awarded bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with an overall GPA of 3.00 or a minimum 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of undergraduate degree
    • A minimum of 3.0 overall GPA on 6 hours of graduate level Health, Kinesiology, Sport Studies coursework at A&M-Commerce, or another regionally accredited university, with departmental approval
  • Two Letters of recommendation
  • All official transcripts
    • Bachelor’s degree, including all transcripts used towards a bachelor’s degree
    • Any master’s degree transcript(s) with graduate coursework (if applicable)
  • Personal Statement
    • One to two pages describing your background, goals and desired concentration: Athletic Administration, Exercise Science, International Sport Management or Sports Coaching

  • English Proficiency Scores must be less than 2 years old
    • Official TOEFL (Minimum Scores: IBT 79, or CBT 213, or PBT 550)
    • Official IELTS (Minimum Score: 6.00 band overall)
    • Official PTE (Minimum Score: 53 overall or higher)
    • Completion (all years) of a bachelor’s degree or higher degree from a regionally accredited university in the United States
  • Official sponsor statement
  • Bank statement from the sponsor
    • Must reflect a balance of at least $26,024.82 USD and be less than 1 year old
  • Scores
    At least one of the following
    • Official GRE Score
    • An awarded master’s degree from a regionally accredited university with an overall GPA of at least a 3.25 on the degree
