Admission Requirements

To qualify for this certificate, you must currently hold a bachelor’s degree (any discipline) from a fully-accredited college or university.

Note: Students pursuing the certificate-only track are not eligible for financial aid. Those with an F1 Visa are not able to apply for this certificate.

Application Requirements

New Students

To apply for this program, you must:

  • Complete Apply Texas application
  • Pay $50.00 non-refundable application fee ($75 for international students)
  • Submit all official undergraduate transcripts and any master’s degree transcripts with graduate coursework, if applicable

Certificate Requirements

To complete this program, you must:

  • Maintain a 3.00 GPA in certificate coursework
  • Complete 12 hours of coursework in Criminal Justice Studies
  • After you fulfill all the requirements, complete this electronic form. This will ensure that the name of the certificate is listed on your official transcripts. The Graduate School will also mail your certificate to the address provided on the above form.

Plan Ahead

Upon completion of the certificate program, courses will count towards a Master of Science in Applied Criminology (MSAC), and newly declared graduate students can lock in their tuition rates for two years.
