Amid increased attention on race relations in America, the Texas A&M University-Commerce Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee will host a one-hour town hall webinar titled “White Panel: What Should White America Do to Improve Race Relations?” on Tuesday, June 23, at 1:30 PM CST.

The one-hour Zoom discussion will focus on the roles and responsibilities white Americans have regarding positive race relations in the United States.

Dr. LaVelle Hendricks, associate professor of counseling, serves as chair of the committee.

“A&M-Commerce is gifted with experts in the area of race relations,” said Hendricks. “The panelists will share valuable information on ways to improve race relations in America and the critical role white America can play.”

Panel members will include:

  • Dr. Rebecca Judd, head of the Department of Social Work
  • Dr. Tara Tietjen-Smith, head of the Department of Health and Human Performance
  • Dr. Sean Lauderdale, associate professor of psychology
  • Pastor Kriss Myers, First Baptist Church Commerce
