Alumnus Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

A recent press release announced that East Texas State University alumnus Christopher S. Adams, Jr., Retired Major General with the United States Air Force, received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who's Who.

According to the Who's Who website, the award recognizes individuals who have achieved greatness and excelled in their field for at least 20 years.

General Adams has received numerous awards for his decades-long service in the U.S. Air Force, including the Distinguished Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Defense Superior Service Medal.

Adams has also written 12 books, including 2018’s “Notable Encounters,” which documents his experiences with military heroes, political figures and others who were impactful in his professional journey.

General Adams earned a Bachelor of Science from ETSU, now A&M-Commerce.
