L.E.A.D. to Host Former Business Reporter Antonio Neves

The Department of Leadership Engagement and Development (L.E.A.D.) will host Antonio Neves for the final installment in L.E.A.D.'s Extraordinary Leadership Series (ELS).

Antonio Neves is a former business reporter who worked with organizations including NBC, PBS, Advertising Age and BET Networks and published business articles on Entreprenuer.com and Forbes. Currently, Neves works as the director of higher education for About.me by traveling the country and teaching college students about personal brand management and career development.

“L.E.A.D. always promotes daring to be different, and we wanted to bring someone who could utilize this ideology to develop our students professionally and with regards to leadership,” Graduate Assistant of L.E.A.D. Adalyn Burger said. “Antonio stood out because his message was about taking a chance and creating your own opportunities.”

ELS is a series of on- and- off campus programs dedicated to providing students leadership experiences and opportunities for cultural growth through student panels, guest speakers and other events.

“ELS was created as another way for students to gain leadership skills not only necessary for college but for their future endeavors,” Director of L.E.A.D. Danielle Davis said. “Students were always asking for more programs and different experiences, so we started a series to expose them to opportunities they would not have otherwise. We have received great feedback from past participants, so we will continue to find more events and programs that will enhance our student leaders.”

The ELS event will take place on February 11 at 7 p.m. in Ambition A and B in the Rayburn Student Center.
