ISACA Recognizes Student Excellence in Business Administration and Management

The Department of Business Administration and Management Systems has been awarded a $1000 scholarship for students through the North Texas Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). This award recognizes the department's excellence in student and IT education at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

“The ISACA is an internationally recognized, influential organization dedicated to providing guidance and furthering the careers of IT and information systems professionals in a broad variety of positions including IS auditor, consultant, IS security professional, CIO and risk auditor,” said Dr. Jeremy St. John, Interim Department Head of Business Administration and Management Information Systems. “The scholarship provided by the ISACA is an acknowledgement of the quality of our students and our program. We are grateful for the recognition by ISACA and proud of our students.”

The ISACA North Texas Chapter academic scholarship is highly selective, and it is only given to students from universities with prestigious IT research and education records.  The ISACA North Texas Chapter has been serving IT professionals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since 1975. The member institutes include General Motors Financial, JCPenney, and others.  ISACA is a nonprofit, independent membership association.

“ISACA is an organization primarily for IT professionals who rely on ISACA as a trusted source for information and technology knowledge. Encouraging student involvement in professional organizations before they graduate helps our efforts in preparing students for the workforce,” said Dr. St. John. “It is one reason our graduates scored higher than the graduates of 88% of all other business schools when their Information Systems knowledge was assessed by the standardized Major Field test. Scholarships always help students and we really appreciate that contribution from the ISACA.”

Scholarships from this award will be given to students to sponsor continuous academic success in IT and business analytics at A&M-Commerce. The Department of Business Administration and Management Information Systems will announce the process of the scholarship application on their website.
