The Department of Institutional Effectiveness and Research serves A&M-Commerce in a variety of capacities to ensure student success and promote strategic planning and continuous data-driven improvement. We serve as a resource for students, faculty and staff in the areas of institutional effectiveness and research, which encompasses outcomes assessment, program approvals, integrated planning, data center and accreditation.

Chief Responsibilities

  • Guide faculty and administrators through program approvals.
  • Assist in efforts to assess student learning.
  • Guide the accreditation processes for colleges, programs and the university.
  • Provide institutional data, both by term and over time.
  • Administer and analyze surveys for future action.
  • Complete mandatory reporting at the System Office, the state and federal levels.

Utilizing The Nuventive Improvement Platform For Annual Assessment Reporting

The University’s tool for managing annual assessment reporting is the Nuventive Improvement Platform. This training will cover basic navigation features of the platform and instructions for submitting an annual assessment [IE] report. Completion of the training is required for all new users to gain full user access to the system. The training also serves as a refresher course on the basics for current users.

Training is available in two formats:

  • TrainTraq Training Course: Log into TrainTraq through SSO and search for Course Number: 2114162 or Course Name: Utilizing the Nuventive Improvement Platform for Annual Assessment Reporting.
  • Zoom: Live, web-based facilitation with a designated focus by reporting entity.

Completing Your Annual IE Report Within The Nuventive Improvement Platform, Virtual

Using the University’s tool for managing annual assessment reporting, the Nuventive Improvement Platform, this training will offer a refresher on navigation and provide a walk-through of the steps to enter information required for your annual IE report, including 20-21 results data and any updates of assessment plan information.

  • Zoom: Live, web-based facilitation with designated focuses and dates from which to choose.

Nuventive Navigation For IE Reviewers, Virtual

The University’s tool for managing annual assessment reporting is the Nuventive Improvement Platform. IE Representatives and Deans/Vice Presidents responsible for review and oversight of IE reports within their college or division have access to a variety of reports to help them monitor submission status and monitor review status following the September 1st due date for the annual assessment (IE) reports to be submitted by IE Authors. This interactive training will cover navigating the review/approval area, monitoring submission status and monitoring review status. The training will be offered in a live, web-based facilitation via Zoom for IE Representatives and Deans/Vice Presidents responsible for the IE reports review.

Rubric Training For IE Reviewers, Virtual

The University’s tool for managing annual assessment reporting is the Nuventive Improvement Platform. Following the September 1st due date for the annual assessment (IE) reports to be submitted by IE Authors, these reports will be reviewed by IE Representatives and Department Heads/Direct Supervisors using the rubric tool within Nuventive. This course will train IE Reviewers how to use the rubric to evaluate the quality of an assessment report and will feature a discussion of the rubric items and applied examples. The training will be offered in a live, web-based facilitation via Zoom for IE Representatives and Department Heads/Direct Supervisors responsible for the IE reports review.
