Dr. Koo Awarded Research Grant

Dr. Katie Koo, an associate professor in higher education at Texas A&M University-Commerce, was awarded a $3,000 grant for her research topic “What Makes Them Distress?: Campus Climate and Mental Health among International Students.” Her sponsor is the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). Koo's innovative research delves into mental health issues among underrepresented international students on campus. Earlier this year, Koo won the Emerging Scholars Award from her same sponsor, the ACPA. Koo earned her doctorate in student affairs from the University of Maryland in 2016.
