  • The department helps prepare you for a number of certification exams. These include the CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner). Selected classes are tailored to prepare students for portions of these certification tests. Interactive classes using simulation and digital media.
  • Our faculty utilize their knowledge and professional experience to help students prepare for the professional world and ensure success in the accounting profession.
  • Our faculty are actively engaged in research and publish regularly in scholarly journals.

Student Organizations

The Department of Marketing and Business Analytics Student Organization is open to all interested students. We offer Learn ‘n Teach sessions, visits to Dallas, Frisco and Richardson for professional networking events, and works with Career Services to provide internships as well as other career-readiness programs. The organization also provides leadership opportunities for members.

Work Opportunity for International Students

As a STEM program, international students enrolled in the MS in Business Analytics program are eligible to work for up to 36 months under the Optional Practical Training Program. For more details, please contact the International Student and Scholar Services office.

Research Opportunities for Students

Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) is a nonprofit, independent membership association. It is a leading global provider of knowledge, certifications, community, advocacy and education on information systems assurance, control and security, enterprise governance of IT, and IT-related risk and compliance. ISACA helps its members and their employers ensure trust in and value from information systems.

The North Texas Chapter offers scholarship opportunities for our marketing and business analytics students. All necessary details regarding scholarship eligibility as well as the application process are released each January.
