Welcome to the Department of Economics and Finance

We offer a comprehensive major in finance that prepares you for the demands of the global business environment. This career-oriented major offers a variety of specializations including investments, corporate finance, real estate, financial planning and economics – including healthcare economics. The combination of educational and real-world applications gives you an active and engaging learning experience. Furthermore, department faculty continuously publish highly impactful research in top academic journals and bring those insights to the classroom.

The variety of offered courses prepare you for a number of certification exams including Charted Financial Analyst (CFA®), Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) and Accredited Commercial Manager (ACoM) – both awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) – Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Certified Professional Forecaster and Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster designations. Selected classes are tailored to prepare students for portions of these certification tests.
