PERSONAL TRAINING

Personal trainers are a valuable resource for anyone eager to achieve fitness goals. We can help you design a program specific to your goals, schedule, and budget to achieve maximum results. Our trainers are specialized in a variety of areas including exercise adherence education, nutritional counseling, pre-natal/post-natal fitness, body building, distance running, athletic conditioning, and more. If you’re training for a marathon, looking to improve your athletic performance, or just need an individualized plan to get you moving and doing fitness activities that you enjoy, contact us today!

Get Started

  • Please note that non-MRC member PT rates do not include access to the facility. An $8.00 day pass will need to be purchased prior to entering the facility and participating in each Personal Training Session.
  • A package must be purchased prior to submitting forms and being paired with a personal trainer
  • All clients must complete the Client Agreement and Client PARQ prior to starting their training sessions.
  • You will have a meeting prior to starting your sessions that will include an initial consultation and a fitness assessment (body fat and body mass index measurements, muscular strength and endurance testing, cardiovascular fitness testing, and a flexibility assessment)
  • Clients desiring only an in-depth fitness and wellness assessment may purchase a one-hour assessment session separately.
  • Sessions are approximately one hour in length but may vary according to the client’s needs.
  • All Personal Training sessions must be held in the Morris Recreation Center.
  • The expiration policy requires the completion of all personal training sessions within the number of weeks equivalent to the number of sessions purchased. Personal training sessions are void after this time period.
  • Once a package has been purchased, no refunds will be issued for personal training sessions.
  • In special circumstances of illness or injury, refunds may be given at the discretion of the program director. A physician’s note may be required.

Education: Kinesiology – Health and Human Performance
Client Motivation: Exercise is not only about how you look, but how you feel, function, live, eat, breathe, love, think, and so much more. Exercising changes your whole life, not just the number on the scale.
Goals for Clients:
My goals as a personal trainer are to help my clients enjoy life. Whether that be developing an increase in energy, an improvement in functional movement, a decrease in anxiety and stress, or even building new relationships. I want my clients to feel the effect that physical activity and exercising will have in every area of their life.

IVY CARR

BECOME A TRAINER

The Fitness & Wellness program has an educational partnership with the American Council on Exercise. This partnership allows A&M-Commerce students to purchase textbooks, study materials and take ACE certification exams at a reduced cost. We offer a personal trainer and group fitness instructor prep courses.

WE WILL HOST ANOTHER COURSE IN FALL 2019.

Description: The Personal Training Prep course meets weekly and is designed to provide practical, hands-on instructional experience for everything you need to know to be a Personal Trainer. Training courses are designed to provide an overview of the information which will be on the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Training Certification exam. The course includes lecture, activity components and mock client opportunities that will prepare trainers to deliver individualized programming proven to move people to adopt sustainable, healthy behaviors and a more active way of life.
