ranks A&M-Commerce Online MBA in top 10 in the Southwest for 2019

The online MBA program at A&M-Commerce has been named to the Editors’ Choice Picks for top online MBA programs for 2019 by The College of Business program ranked seventh in the Southwest and 96th in the United States.

“Being ranked among the top 10 MBA programs in the Southwest reflects our long-standing AACSB accreditation, competitive acceptance rate and a tuition cost that makes us a very strong value in the market,” said Dr. Shanan Gibson, dean of the College of Business. “These are also the reason that we continue to be one of the largest MBA programs in Texas – an exceptional education that is accessible and flexible.”

A panel of business professionals analyzed data from over 300 schools and assigned points to each school in five weighted categories that comprised the overall score: cost (40 percent), accreditation (30 percent), acceptance rate (20 percent), student support (5 percent) and student engagement (5 percent). Those categories were heavily influenced by a survey of over 100 current, future and past business students and professionals.

“The report analyzed hundreds of university online MBA programs and A&M-Commerce was included,” said Henry R. Steele, managing editor for “All programs were ranked on a national level along with regions of the West, Midwest, Southwest, Southeast and Northeast. Also included are the most affordable and highest priced as comparison rankings.”

Most data used in the report was compiled by accessing publicly available data sources. Cost, accreditation and acceptance rates were verified directly with the university or university website. Student services and technology and student engagement metrics were sourced from U.S. News & World Report MBA Rankings from 2018. Additional data was sourced from the College Navigator National Center for Education Statistics.

“In a highly competitive academic market, students rightfully seek out information to help them make informed decisions regarding their academic options. Sources such as provide potential MBA students with information that can assist in this process,” Gibson said.
