Art Professor’s Work To Be In Phoenix Exhibition

COMMERCE, Texas — Barbara Frey has been turning clay into works of art for years as a professor of art at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Now the rest of the world can appreciate her work.

One of Frey’s pieces will be included in the 2009 NCECA Clay Biennial Exhibition in Phoenix, Ariz. The exhibition will run during the 43rd annual NCECA conference in April 2009.

Approximately 1,500 pieces were submitted to the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, and only 56 pieces were accepted for the exhibition.

“The NCECA calls the exhibition the premier international juried exhibition for the ceramic arts,” Frey said. “It is quite an honor to be selected.”

The exhibition will be installed in the Ceramic Research Center at Arizona State University.
