A&M-Commerce Graduate Student Selected to Present at Children’s Literature Conference

Ana Saenz, a master's student in English, has been selected to present at the 2019 Children's Literature Association Conference in Indianapolis. This year's conference theme is “Activism and Empathy.” Saenz's paper, “Who Gets to Dream? The Gendered Construct of Home, Journey, and Escape in Latinx Children’s & YA Literature,” discusses how the paradigm of immigrant existence is constructed primarily around males and proposes a paradigm for female experiences.
