A&M-Commerce faculty selected for Emerging Scholar award

Dr. Sarah Rodriguez, an associate professor of Higher Education & Learning Technologies at Texas A&M University-Commerce, has been selected as the 2020 recipient of the Barbara K. Townsend Emerging Scholar Award by the Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC).

This award recognizes a new scholar for outstanding theoretical and/or applied research that contributes to the professional body of knowledge about community colleges; demonstrates excellence in teaching, advising, and/or mentoring; and integrates knowledge of teaching and service.

Rodriguez will receive the award during the award luncheon on April 3 in Tempe, Arizona, at the 2020 CSCC Conference.

Rodriguez earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership with a concentration on Mexican American Studies in 2015 from the University of Texas at Austin.
