A&M-Commerce Department of Mathematics Hosts Annual High School Event

The Texas A&M University-Commerce Department of Mathematics hosted the 8th Annual Adventures in Mathematics (AIM) event on February 14, 2020 at the Rayburn Student Center. AIM—organized each year by the A&M-Commerce Department of Mathematics for high school math teachers and their students—includes a hands-on mathematics competition, breakout sessions and guest speakers. This year, 194 students and 25 teachers from eight area schools participated in the event, providing valuable exposure for the department and the College of Science and Engineering. The purpose of AIM is to increase students' interest in learning mathematics while offering teachers methods, examples and stories that can be used in their classrooms.
