A&M-Commerce Dedicates Science Building

Texas A&M University-Commerce will hold a naming ceremony for the Keith D. McFarland Science Building on March 22 at 1:30p.m. at the northeast entrance of the building.

“The naming of the Science Building in honor of President Emeritus, Dr. Keith McFarland, is fitting and appropriate as he served as the catalyst for the transformation that has occurred and continues to occur at the university,” said Derryle Peace, committee chair for this event and Director of Alumni Relations. “His vision and leadership will be felt for years to come.”

Dr. McFarland worked for A&M-Commerce in many capacities over the course of more than thirty-nine years serving as President of the university for 10 years in addition to his roles as full professor in the Department of History, head of the department, and Dean for Graduate Studies and Research. During his time on campus, he saw over twenty new bachelor's and master's programs created, worked to expand and beautify the campus, and was heavily involved in the community.
