A&M-Commerce Biology Department Receives Continued Funding for JAMP Program

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Texas A&M University-Commerce received grant funding as part of the university's ongoing affiliation with the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP).

JAMP is a partnership between 11 medical schools in Texas and 70 public and private four-year undergraduate institutions. The program provides financial and academic support for qualifying pre-med students, as well as guaranteed admission to a medical school in Texas upon completing all requirements at graduation.

Dr. John Slovak, assistant professor in the department reports most funds from the grant will be used to provide tutors in the JAMP room located within the McFarland Science Building at A&M-Commerce.
